About Us

At GSC Through-Care we believe that every young adult has the ability to achieve their best through building therapeutic alliances with others that help develop trust and enhance their feeling of safety in a nurturing environment.

River View Cottage utilises a bespoke HOPE Framework to give young adults hope for their future, to develop their skills, talents and interests and to assist them in achieving their goals.

We do this by;

  • providing consistent reliable care,
  • encouraging opportunities for creativity,
  • promoting self-worth through unconditional positive regard,
  • providing educational/workplace opportunities,
  • creating a hopeful living environment,
  • modelling trusting relationships,
  • providing safe care,
  • providing emotional support,
  • creating a therapeutic alliance for challenging behaviours,
  • using hopeful language.

Each young adult’s assessed needs will be incorporated into an individual throughcare/pathways plan using the GIRFEC, SHANARRI framework, with a specific focus on employment, training and HOPE for their future. This will assist the young adult create realistic goals and maximise their chances of success in every area of their wellbeing.
